Changing Hostname in Red Canary

Issue

How do I change a hostname inside of Red Canary?

Environment

Carbon Black

Microsoft Defender for Endpoint

Resolution

You will have to update the endpoint hostname on the host itself.  After changing the name, it is recommended to restart the machine.

It will take up to 30 minutes for the changes to reflect in Red Canary.

Cause

Red Canary polls all endpoint information from the EDR.  Once the hostname change's has updated in the EDR, Red Canary will be updated.
