Issue
For a new user who has accepted the invitation email from Red Canary, they are unable to click the Continue button to complete new user registration.
No errors are shown on the page. In some cases clicking Continue does nothing. In other cases, the Continue button does show as disabled / grayed out.
Resolution
This issue is generally caused due to browser issues, including extensions blocking content, Javascript being blocked, or general incompatibility.
To troubleshoot this issue:
- Confirm you are using a browser currently supported by Red Canary. See What browsers does Red Canary support?
- Disable all browser plugins
- Try setting up the profile using an incognito browser.
- Disable then re-enable JavaScript
- To disable Javascript in Chrome:
-
In the address bar, enter chrome://settings/content.
-
Find JavaScript on the page and select Do not allow any site to run JavaScript.
-
Select Done and restart Chrome.
-
- To re-enable Javascript in Chrome:
-
In the address bar, enter chrome://settings/content.
-
Find JavaScript on the page and select Allow all sites to run JavaScript
- Select Done and restart Chrome.
-
- To disable Javascript in Chrome:
- Clear cache/cookies and retry the setup process.
If successful, you may reenable any plugins as you can now bypass the profile setup page to navigate directly to your subdomain using your user profile (I think?)
