VMware Carbon Black EDR, Certificate error when trying to reach the Console URL directly

Issue

User attempts to connect directly to their VMware Carbon Black console using https://cb.<subdomain>.my.redcanary.co/ and receives the following error:

Did Not Connect: Potential Security Issue

cb.<subdomain>.my.redcanary.co has a security policy called HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) which means that Firefox can only connect to it securely. You can't add an exception to this site.
Certificate is not trusted because it is self-signed.

Resolution

There are two ways to reach the VMware Carbon Black console:

• Pivot from your Red Canary user interface by clicking on the CB icon on the top right corner of your main page.

• Or, by navigating to the following URL: https://<subdomain>-cb.my.redcanary.co/. This URL should allow a direct connection to the server.

Cause

The VMware CB EDR server uses a self signed security certificate for the sensor connections that cannot be accessed directly.
