Cannot locate certain options during Microsoft Defender for Endpoint onboarding

Issue

We are not able to locate certain options in the Settings menu during our Microsoft Defender for Endpoint onboarding such as:

Streaming API

Roles 

Environment

Microsoft Defender for Endpoint

Microsoft Defender XDR Console

Resolution

Go to Settings --> Endpoints --> Licenses within your Microsoft Defender XDR console.

Microsoft Defender for Business is being applied, and we need to apply Defender for Endpoint Plan 2.

Select Manage Subscription Settings and select "Defender for Endpoint Plan 2". Click Done to apply.

Note: this may take up to three hours to apply.

Cause

Microsoft now supports mixed mode licensing. The default Defender for Business console experience is simplified if this is not changed, which is why you are not able to configure various settings in this default configuration.
