VMware Carbon Black Cloud when updating Linux sensors the dashboard still shows the old version of the sensor

Issue

The user has requested several Linux endpoints to be updated from version 2.10.x to version 2.11.x. After the update completes the endpoints are still showing in the dashboard as running version 2.10.x.

Environment

VMware Carbon Black Enterprise EDR

VMware Carbon Black EDR Standard

Resolution

Manually restart the services using the commands below:

Stop:
sudo systemctl stop cbagentd

Start:
sudo systemctl start cbagentd

If restarting the services does not work, please manually remove the sensors from each endpoint affected and manually install the sensor back to the endpoint.

Cause

The sensor version is not registering correctly with the server.
