429 Too Many Requests Error from Red Canary API – Zscaler MDR Support

Issue

User is receiving a 429 Too Many Requests response from the Red Canary API, or similar request denials like 406 Not Accepted.

Resolution

Reduce request frequency. To avoid rate limits, do not exceed both 20 requests per minute and 10 requests in one second. If the issue persists, reach out to Red Canary Support.

Cause

Per second rate limits are placed on the number of API requests you can make per IP to ensure the API remains performant and stable. If your IP address exceeds Red Canary rate limits, you will receive a response with an HTTP status code of either 429 (Too Many Requests) or 406 (Not Accepted).
